The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says job opportunities in phlebotomy are expected to grow by 25% between 2016 and 2026, which outpaces growth in other healthcare support occupations. Health Network Laboratories' (HNL Lab Medicine) new School of Phlebotomy, a low-cost, eight-week program with a clinical internship — prepares students to take the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Phlebotomy Technician Certification Exam.

Prerequisites and Class Schedule

The only academic prerequisite is a high school diploma or GED. The admissions process includes completing an application, interviewing with Health Network Laboratories (HNL Lab Medicine) Human Resources and obtaining all required medical, safety and in-surance clearances/screenings. You’ll complete classroom work at Health Network Laboratories' (HNL Lab Medicine) Roble Road location in Allentown and training within a PSC. Students can expect 2 to 3 hours of nightly independent study/homework. The program is perfect for high school/GED graduates looking to begin a career or work in healthcare while continuing their education. It’s also designed for career changers, especially those with retail and other customer service experience.
