Health Network Laboratories (HNL Lab Medicine) Board Appoints Matthew R. Sorrentino as Acting CEO

Health Network Laboratories (HNL), a leader in high-quality, innovative laboratory medicine services, announced Dr. Peter Fisher has resigned as President and CEO. HNL’s founding board member and Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Chief Legal Officer and Senior Vice President, Matthew R. Sorrentino has been appointed Acting CEO effectively immediately.
“I was involved with the founding of HNL and have served on its Board for over 20 years,” said Sorrentino. “I am excited about HNL’s future and look forward to setting the company on a path to long-term success."
According to Kathryn Taylor, HNL’s Chairman of the Board, “Sorrentino’s strong background in partnerships, mergers and acquisition makes him the ideal candidate to accelerate HNL’s growth and success."
The board of directors will begin a search for a new CEO. "We thank Peter for the contributions he has made to HNL and wish him well in his new endeavors."
Operating for over 20 years, HNL is a leader in laboratory medicine that works with more than 10 hospital systems and has over 60 regional patient service centers. Each year, HNL generates more than 60 million clinical and anatomic pathology results for approximately 3 million patients and 12,000 healthcare providers.
