Allentown, PA – (February 12, 2020) – Health Network Laboratories (HNL Lab Medicine), a leader in high quality, innovative laboratory medicine services, has named Julia Barto its first vice president for Human Resources.

“Julia’s contributions have enabled our organization to grow while creating a great culture and workplace for our employees,” said Matthew Sorrentino, President and CEO of HNL Lab Medicine. “I am confident in her ability to continue to address our future needs of recruitment, talent management, and the facilitation of a highly engaged workforce that will support our aspirations of growth.”

In 2007 she was promoted to Human Resources Director and then in 2017 she was promoted to Administrator in 2017. In her leadership roles at HNL Lab Medicine, Julia has overseen the design and development of a growing human resources department, including employee training and development programs, workplace structures, staffing strategies and implementation plans. In 2005, when Julia first joined HNL Lab Medicine, the company was comprised of about 600 employees. Today, Julia and her human resources team serve more than 1,100 employees.
“I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to be part of a team of hard-working colleagues and professionals at HNL.  Along with the experienced Education, Human Resources and Organizational Development teams we intend to focus on our opportunities for growth with both our current and prospective partners.  It is essential that we recognize and invest in our internal talent as well as expand our workforce with new ideas and methodologies.  I am thrilled to be part of the next chapter in HNL’s future ventures”
Before moving into the health care field, Julia spent 10 years working in Human Resources in the retail and manufacturing industries.
