Daniel F. Brown, MD, MBA

Chair, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine,
Medical Director, and Chief, Section of Neuropathology

Dr. Daniel Brown is Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and Chief, Section of Neuropathology, Lehigh Valley Health Network.  He also serves as Medical Director of  HNL Lab Medicine. Dr. Brown is the region’s only board-certified neuropathologist. He received his medical degree from Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY, and his MBA from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He completed his anatomic pathology residency and neuropathology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, and he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology, with combined board-certification in anatomic pathology and neuropathology.

Dr. Brown’s clinical expertise includes CNS tumor diagnosis, muscle and nerve pathology, and test utilization management. His research interests include the overlap of Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease, and he has authored numerous original research articles, reviews and book chapters.

To maintain his competitive edge and inspire that in our whole team, Dr. Brown is an athlete and sports fan, favoring marathon running and enjoying soccer games.
