HNL Lab Medicine, a regional lab medicine leader known for high-quality, convenient testing and related services, announces the opening of its newest patient center in Scranton, Lackawanna County.

The new center offers HNL’s full-range of services and patient-friendly features, including “no appointments needed” visits, short wait times typically under 15 minutes and a commitment to quick, easy-to-access test results.

Located at 501 S. Washington, Ave., HNL’s new center shares the same building with The Wright Center for Community Health, with whom HNL has an ongoing affiliation in promoting health and serving the community.

With the pandemic and its restrictions easing, people are beginning to think about health checkups and necessary screenings again – essential stops for their wellbeing that they had to put off,” said Daniel Brown, M.D., M.B.A., medical director of HNL Lab Medicine. “The timing couldn’t be better to open our doors at this new location in Scranton. Our team is eager to help people in this community in their return to ‘normal’ – whether it’s catching up on bloodwork or receiving other tests they may need to smoothly transition back to the workplace, camp, classrooms or travel.

Beyond offering short wait times, HNL Lab Medicine completes most tests within 24 hours after reaching HNL Lab Medicine's state-of-the-art reference laboratory in the nearby Lehigh Valley. When patients sign up for MyHNLAccess, a free patient portal, they can receive a text message when results are available and easily view their results on their computer, smart phone or other mobile devices.

HNL Lab Medicine also offers self-pay options that may be an economical choice for patients without insurance or for those who participate in high deductible health plans.

HNL Lab Medicine accepts all insurance plans and will directly bill a patient’s primary insurance company. HNL Lab Medicine has a patient-friendly billing policy and offers payment plans and online billing support services. The new patient center is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Patients may check current wait times and check-in online at www.hnl.com/scranton.
