Journey into the Invisible Realm

Microscopy is essential in diagnostic testing, aiding in identifying and analyzing microscopic elements crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment.

By learning about microscopy, children gain a deeper appreciation for the importance of accurate and reliable diagnostic testing in healthcare. With a microscope as their tool, your children can embark on an exciting journey into the invisible realm of laboratory medicine.

Discover hidden worlds teeming with tiny creatures, cells, and structures that play vital roles in keeping our bodies healthy and strong. Check out the gallery below for a glimpse into the invisible realm and for inspiration for your artists.

Guidelines to Enter

Contestants will use their imagination to envision what they might see if they peered through a microscope.

  • Download and print the artwork contest template.
  • Using colored pencils or crayons, draw and color what you imagine would be revealed under the lens of a microscope. Contestants have the freedom to let their imagination soar and create fantastical scenes or intricate structures that could exist in the microscopic world.
  • Be sure to include the artist's first and last name, grade, and a contact email address for patient/teacher/guardian
  • Once finished, you can scan and submit the masterpiece using the form at the bottom of this page or mail your entry to:
Attn: Marketing Department, 794 Roble Road, Allentown, PA 18901
We'll be selecting winners in three different categories:

Most Creative: Encourage their imagination to run wild! Whether they dream up a world of whimsical creatures or design intricate patterns inspired by microscopic structures, we're looking for artwork that showcases the most original and imaginative ideas.

Most Realistic: Show off their knowledge of science and attention to detail by creating artwork that looks like it could be found under a real microscope. From accurate depictions of microscopic organisms to realistic textures and colors, winners in this category will strive to create artwork that captures the essence of the microscopic world.

Most Expressive: Encourage contestants to use their artwork to tell a story or convey a message about the microscopic world they've imagined. Whether it's a scene bursting with life and energy or a tranquil landscape filled with unseen beauty, winners in this category will submit artwork that transports us into their imaginative vision.

Each age group (K-2, 3-5, 6-8) will have a winner selected in each category.
