At HNL Lab Medicine, we take the complexity out of billing so that you can focus on what matters most, your health.  

When your provider orders your test, we’ll check with your insurance provider to verify coverage based on your insurance benefits in order to give you a full picture of what your out-of-pocket cost may be.

Once the investigation is complete, an HNL Lab Medicine representative will contact you to review payment options.

Prior Authorization

Many third-party payers require Prior Authorization for patients in need of important genetic and molecular laboratory testing. Without a prior authorization, your claim for reimbursement of the test will be rejected and you may receive a significant bill. 

To avoid those costs to you, HNL Lab Medicine will submit a prior authorization request so that testing can be authorized, performed, and reimbursed without significant delay or co-payment required. 

If the prior authorization is denied by your insurance, we’ll work with you to appeal the denial, as well as discuss other payment options.
