Warren Erdmann serves as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at HNL Lab Medicine, bringing over 38 years of experience and extensive expertise to our team. Warren’s ability to diagnose and improve operational efficiency is foundational to accelerating our growth strategy as we expand our genetics and molecular capabilities. Warren is solution-oriented, a great listener and collaborator.

Warren joined HNL Lab Medicine as interim VP of Lab Operations in June 2021. Bringing his knowledge in scaling laboratory infrastructure and operations. Recognized as a strategic business partner, strong leader, and effective change manager. He was appointed Chief Lab Operations Officer in Sept 2021.

Warren began his career with MetPath Labs, in 1982. He started as a facilities maintenance mechanic. MetPath later became Quest Diagnostics. Warren later assumed the responsibility for Distribution and warehouse operations.

Warren left Quest and joined Medilabs in 1996 where he became Vice President of Operations. He oversaw purchasing, logistics, client service, phlebotomy and many other parts of lab operations. Medilabs was purchased by BioReference in April 1998, whereby he assumed the position of VP of Operations for the merged laboratory. He continued to perform all functions for the lab operations and in 2015 was named Senior VP and Chief Operating Officer for the third largest national laboratory with 1 billion in revenues.

He was a key member of the Executive team in which they sustained rapid growth of 20 consecutive years with at least 20% annual compounded growth. Warren oversaw and managed all area of the Lab operations including, Laboratory Operations, Phlebotomy, Customer service, Logistics, remote lab operations, material management, Operations Excellence, Referral testing, pre-analytic processing, and safety and facilities. At their peak they serviced over 50,000 patients a day. The BioReference team is credited for successful growth by building an operation focused on continued improvement, beating the competition providing better service consistently for patients and customers.

Warren played a key role with due diligence and integration for 15 acquisitions. They expanded significant remote laboratory operations on California, Texas, Florida, and Maryland. Played a major role expanding footprint and capabilities of GeneDx. Known to all employees as an engaged, approachable leader strongly committed to the highest quality patient care, and customer service. Warren most recently was assigned a position to Genesis Healthcare regarding the life safety survey for a Nursing home operation in Cape May NJ.

Renu Bajaj, Ph.D. FACMG, serves as the Associate Medical Director, Genomics. Dr. Bajaj received her Ph.D. in cytogenetics from the University of Delhi. She completed ABMGG Fellowships in clinical cytogenetics/genomics and molecular genetics/genomics at Yale University School of Medicine, Cytogenetics Lab in New Haven, CT, and Hartford Hospital. She is board-certified in laboratory genetics and genomics, and clinical cytogenetics.

Prior to joining HNL Lab Medicine, Dr. Bajaj held various positions such as Director, Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics for St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA; Director, Clinical Cytogenetics for Integrated Oncology LabCorp Specialty Testing Group in NY, NY; Director, Clinical Cytogenetics for Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA; Assistant Director, Clinical Cytogenetics for CSI Laboratories in Alpharetta, GA; and Supervisor, Cytogenetics Lab for Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, CT.

She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American College of Medical Genetics, American Society of Human Genetics, and the Association for Molecular Pathology.

Dr. Bellucci received her MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, and completed her anatomic and clinical pathology residency with a Surgical Pathology Fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa. She completed a Dermatopathology Fellowship at the Harvard University Hospital System, a combined program that included training at Massachusetts General Hospital under Dr. Martin C. Mihm, Brigham & Women’s Hospital under Dr. George F. Murphy, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center under Dr. Steven R. Tahan. Dr. Bellucci is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and is also board certified in Dermatopathology. She has taught medical students and resident physicians at the University of Pennsylvania, resident physicians at the Harvard Dermatology Residency Program, and has published in the field of dermatopathology. Dr. Kirsten Bellucci is a Clinical Associate Professor at University of South Florida (USF), Morsani College of Medicine.

Dr. Durra received her MD from University of Jordan. She completed fellowship training in oncologic surgical pathology at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. She did her residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Temple University Hospital, also in Philadelphia. Prior to joining Health Network Laboratories, she was an associate professor of pathology at Temple University Hospital and Medical School, as well as medical director of the pathology laboratory at Bryn Mawr Gastroenterology Medical Specialists. Dr. Dwyer-Joyce received her MD from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland. She completed fellowship training in cytology at Hahnemann University Hospital and surgical pathology fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania’s Pennsylvania Hospital, both in Philadelphia. Prior to joining Health Network Laboratories, she was director of cytopathology for Pennsylvania Hospital. She is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with added board certification in Cytopathology.

Dr. Gheith received her medical degree from the Ain Shams University School of Medicine, Cairo, where she was also awarded a Master of Science degree in Clinical Pathology, and a PhD in Immunology. She completed both her pathology residency and hematopathology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa. Dr. Gheith is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology and is certified in combined Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology, and also board certified in hematopathology. Dr. Shereen Gheith has an academic appointment as Associate Professor of Pathology on the Clinician Educator Pathway at University of South Florida (USF), Morsani College of Medicine.

He then completed a Fellowship in Cytopathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa. He is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with added board certification in Cytopathology. Dr. Goonewardene serves as Director of the Anatomic Pathology Quality Assurance Committee at Lehigh Valley Health Network. His research and publications focus on gastrointestinal pathology. He is currently investigating the use of molecular markers in increasing the sensitivity of detecting pancreatic adenocarcinoma in fine needle aspiration cytology specimens. Dr. Elsie Lee received her medical degree from Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. and completed her anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA, followed by an hematopathology fellowship at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. She completed her transfusion medicine/blood banking fellowships at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, and the University Hospital at Stony Brook in NY. She is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Hematology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine.

Dr. Lee is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB), Mayo Clinic Alumni Association, American Society for Clinical Pathology, and a past member of the Residency Program Directors Section of the Association of Pathology Chairs. Dr. Valentine is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, with additional certification in Cytopathology. He earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed a clinical internship in Internal Medicine and an AP/CP residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), followed by a cytopathology fellowship at Northwestern University.

Over the course of his 20+ year career in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Valentine has served in a variety of clinical and academic roles, including a faculty position at the NMCSD pathology residency program and as an assistant professor of pathology at USUHS. He has provided direct clinical support to Naval Aviators, Navy Submariners, Navy Divers, and U.S. Marine Corps Special Operators.

In his spare time, Dr. Valentine enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children. He also enjoys exercise and travel.
