Tobacco Free Work Place
HNL Lab Medicine screens all newly hired employees for nicotine and nicotine metabolites at the time of the pre-placement physical assessment to verify responses to the nicotine use question in the pre-placement medical form. A smoking surcharge is assessed to the benefits premiums for those benefit eligible employees who have tested positive for nicotine and nicotine metabolites. We offer an opportunity to learn more about and take part in smoking cessation programs.

All programs are evaluated regularly and altered, as appropriate, to meet our employees' changing needs and to offer the advantages of future trends in employee benefits. HNL Lab Medicine reserves the right to make plan changes at any time.
