Cytogenetics testing is utilized to detect numerical and structural chromosome abnormalities in metaphase cells. HNL Lab Medicine’s state-of-the-art Cytogenetics laboratory provides the most advanced chromosome analysis for identifying and diagnosing genetic abnormalities. Chromosome and FISH testing help to identify the diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of the treatment for oncologic malignancies. The identified tumor markers help in managing the targeted therapies and provide valuable pathologic information. Additionally, these techniques along with chromosome microarray are also useful in identifying the constitutional chromosome abnormalities for the congenital malformations, intellectual disability, and fertility or recurrent pregnancy loss.
