Meet Our 2026 Children's Art Contest Winners

Celebrating Creativity: Meet Our 2026 Children's Art Contest Winners

At HNL Lab Medicine, curiosity is at the heart of everything we do. This year, we saw just how powerful that curiosity can be through the eyes of young artists across our community. We are excited to announce the winners of our 2026 Children's Art Contest.

This year's contest invited students in grades K–8 to think like scientists and create their own original experiments, illustrated through a colorful test tube rack. From imaginative inventions to creative scientific discoveries, each submission answered one big question: What would I discover?

The response was incredible. We received hundreds of entries filled with creativity, curiosity, and bold ideas, making the selection process both exciting and challenging.

After reviewing hundreds of imaginative submissions, including input and voting from HNL Lab Medicine team members, the following students were selected as this year's winners:

  • Akhil Pulavarthi , Grade 4
  • Alice Fisher, Grade 2

  • Regan Weirbach, Grade 6
  • Nitya Patel, Grade 1

Most Expressive

Each winner will receive a family membership to either the Da Vinci Science Center or the Franklin Institute in recognition of their creativity, originality, and imaginative approach to scientific discovery.

Inspiring Curiosity Beyond the Contest

The celebration continues beyond the contest. Winning artwork will be displayed throughout HNL Lab Medicine's more than 50 Patient Service Centers across the region, adding color, creativity, and inspiration to the spaces where we serve patients every day.

"It's inspiring to see how students bring science and imagination together in such creative ways," said Jessica Bargilione, Chief Marketing Officer at HNL Lab Medicine. "These entries are a powerful reminder that curiosity starts early and can lead to incredible ideas and discoveries."

Now in its fifth year, the Annual Children's Art Contest reflects HNL Lab Medicine's commitment to fostering curiosity, creativity, and educational opportunities in the communities we serve. We are grateful to the families, teachers, and schools who encouraged these young artists and helped make this year's contest such a success.
