HNL Lab Medicine Laboratory Receives Reaccreditation From College of American Pathologists

The Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) again awarded Forensic Drug Testing accreditation to our laboratory here at HNL Lab Medicine based on results of a recent on-site inspection conducted by CAP inspectors.

Shannon Clarke released to the company earlier this week, “CONGRATULATIONS to Toxicology as the department has passed our Forensic CAP Inspection! Two inspectors from El Sohly Laboratories in Mississippi expressed we had an excellent lab and our staff were very knowledgeable with top notch organizational skills!” Our laboratory is one of more than 8,000 CAP-accredited facilities worldwide.

HNL Lab Medicine’s Chief Executive Officer and President, Martin Till, upon learning of the laboratory’s accreditation, said: “Great job team!  Congratulations on another successful inspection, I’m very proud of all of your efforts and results.”

The U.S. federal government recognizes the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program, begun in the early 1960s, as being equal-to or more-stringent-than the government’s own inspection program.

During the Forensic CAP accreditation process, designed to ensure the highest standard of care for all drug testing donors, inspectors examine the laboratory’s records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examine laboratory staff qualifications, equipment, facilities, safety program and record, and overall management.

Congratulations to the Forensic Toxicology laboratory medicine team for this significant accomplishment that further demonstrates our commitment to high-quality patient care at HNL Lab Medicine.
