Clinical Utility

The use of this assay aids physicians in determining whether a major molecular response (MMR) has been achieved in Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) patients, indicating progression-free survival. Increases in BCR-ABL/ABL %IS may indicate a loss of response, or resistance to therapy. The test measures BCR-ABL1 to ABL1 percent ratio on the International Scale (IS) in t(9;22) positive CML patients. Identifies major breakpoint, p210, fusion transcripts e13a2 and e14a2.
