Included Tests
  • Fluid (Seroma) Specimen: Collect fresh. Do not place in media or fixative. If Flow Cytometry is needed, a second specimen needs to be collected in RPMI.
  • Tissue (Capsule) Specimen: Histopatholological examination by a Board Certified Pathologist. Immunohistochemistry will be ordered by the Pathologist, if deemed appropriate.

  • This test may be used by treating physicians to direct appropriate patient management and treatment.

Collection Instructions

Fluid (Seroma) Specimen: Collect fresh. Do not place in fixative or media if requesting cell count. Collect in RPMI if requesting Flow Cytometry.

Tissue (Capsule) Specimen: Fix in Neutral Buffered Formalin.
Processing and Submission Instructions
  • A shared sticker must be placed on the specimen for routing purposes.
  • For Cell Count with Hematopathologist review, use order code FLDHP.
  • The Hematopathologist will order Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry, if deemed appropriate.
