Elevated levels are seen either transiently in some infectious diseases or more persistently in autoimmune diseases, such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS). Anticardiolipin antibodies have also been associated with fetal loss, endocarditis, cardiovascular disease, and hemolytic anemia. Testing is best utilized when performed in parallel with a Beta-2-Glycoprotein 1 Antibody Profile. |
