Specimen and Container Info

Specimen Type: Whole Blood

Collection Container: Royal Blue Top (EDTA) 

Desired Specimen Volume: 4 mL
Collection Instructions
  1. Collect a royal blue top (EDTA) tube via venipuncture.
  2. To avoid contamination, use powderless gloves. 
Processing and Submission Instructions
  1. Transport 4 mL of whole blood in the original collection container. Do not aliquot.
Patient Preparation

Patient should refrain from taking mineral supplements and multivitamins three days before specimen collection.
Transport Instructions

Transport to the laboratory refrigerated.
