Limitations

The result is not intended to be used as the sole means for clinical diagnosis or patient management decisions. Cross-reactions are seen with histoplasmosis, blastomycosis, and paracoccidioidomycosis. Sputolysin, sodium hydroxide, and potassium hydroxide treatment degrade the analyte detected in the assay.
