Clinical Utility
Detects the presence of Cryptococcus in spinal fluid. Cryptococcus is a common etiological agent of fungal meningitis. Positive screens will be reflexed to titer. Confirmation by culture is required for positive antigen detections.

Desired Volume: 0.5 mL

Minimum Acceptable Volume: 0.25 mL
Processing and Submission Instructions
  • CSF culture should be added for all positive cultures.
  • CSF culture is not required titer trending on repeat specimens.
