| CPT Codes | ||
| 81445 | ||
| Expected Turnaround Time | ||
| 13 - 14 days | ||
| Clinical Utility | ||
| The Pan Cancer Mutation Panel provides comprehensive detection of somatic mutations, including single nucleotide variants and small insertion/deletions up to 30 bp, in 30 important cancer-related genes via next generation sequencing. | ||
| Specimen and Container Info | ||
| Specimen Type: FFPE Block, unstained slides with matched H&E slide | ||
| Processing and Submission Instructions | ||
| Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissue: Slides: 7-10 sections of 10 μm unstained and 1 matched H&E slide. Please take adequate precautions to prevent cross-contamination with other specimens during slide cutting and transport. If it is not possible to send slides, the tumor block is acceptable, although not preferred. Multiple different tests can be performed on the same specimen. | ||
| Transport Instructions | ||
| Transport to the laboratory at room temperature. | ||
| Stability Requirements | ||
|
||
| Causes for Rejection | ||
| Specimens with less than 10% tumor content will be rejected.Do not submit decalcified specimens, cytology smears or samples from hematologic malignancies. | ||
| Methodology | ||
| Next Gen Sequencing (NGS) | ||
| Limitations | ||
